What is Ordi?

2023-05-10 09:13:51 UTC
Ordi is an experimental token based on the Bitcoin network and the Ordinals protocol, and represents the first example of the BRC-20 token standard in use. Ordi tokens are minted and transferred using JSON data from the Ordinals protocol, and can be minted up to 1,000 at a time, for a total of 21 million. While Ordi tokens currently have no real value, they have some hype as the first Meme token on the Bitcoin chain.

Ordi's fair issuance method avoids ratting issues and is more fair compared to ERC-20 tokens. ordi requires no VC intervention, has no so-called project side, and has the potential to reverse harvest the market. Ordi tokens are imbued with value through inscriptions in the Ordinals protocol.

However, Ordi tokens also have some drawbacks, such as the way they are issued, how they exist, and how they are transferred. Nevertheless, with the support of the Bitcoin network, these drawbacks can become advantages. In the future, if Ordi tokens are able to improve on these disadvantages, their growth potential will be immeasurable.

In conclusion, the Ordi token is an experimental token based on the Bitcoin network and the Ordinals protocol, and has unique value and potential for development as the first example of application of the BRC-20 token standard.
